Florida...Friends, Family, Love

I'm back! Who missed me? :)

My 10 yr high school reunion... I didn't graduate with them since I moved to California for my senior year, but I grew up with these friends. Everyone looked just the same as I remembered....

.

Then down to Ft. Lauderdale to see my Aunt....

.

and my soul mate, who is the best man God ever created. Yep, I am completely smitten for this one, and wouldn't you know it, he feels the same way about me lol. Yes, I do realize I live in California. But you know... I really am a Florida girl...

11 yrs ago, today...

June 7, 1997 was my big move to San Diego. Two months prior, on April 6, the rest of my family had arrived already. I stayed back in Florida to finish my junior year of high school.

I remember Luke's mom took me to Taco Bell and got me a kid's meal so that I could get the free watch... so I could have a watch for my flight. Haha.

I arrived in the afternoon in San Diego, and my entire family came to pick me up at the airport (mom and siblings). We then met my grandparents and uncle at the Hamburger Factory in Poway, for a late lunch. I remember having a turkey sandwich. Can you believe that... Liz, whose favorite food is a hamburger, went to a restaurant called the Hamburger Factory and ordered a turkey sandwich. I must have been severely jet-lagged and couldn't think properly. Heehee.

A few days after I arrived, I started my job at the North County Soccer Park, which my uncle owned at the time.

I was 17... about to graduate from high school... my little sister and brother, Amanda and James, were 6 and 4 yrs old.

Now here I am, with a 6 and 4 yr old girl and boy... and Amanda is graduating from high school at the age of 17.

Wow....

Ryan and his career

Ryan: Mommy, why does Kristin have to go to school on Mondays?

Me: Because in Elementary school you go every weekday.

Ryan: Why do you have to go to school every weekday?

Me: So you can learn

Ryan: Why do you need to learn?

Me: So you can know lots of stuff

Ryan: Why do you need to know lots of stuff?

Me: So you can get a job when you grow up

Ryan: Why do you need to get a job?

Me: So you can pay for stuff, and have a house to live in

Ryan: Why would I want to do that?

Me: Don't you want a house to live in?

Ryan: No, I'm going to live at your house forever!

Me: (laughing) well actually Ryan, Mommy will probably tell you you're gonna have to get a job and get your own house if you want to be an adult.

Ryan: No, I don't want a job. I don't like jobs. I don't know how to do a job.

Me: That's why you go to college! Don't you want a cool job?

Ryan: Nah

Me: How about a doctor?

Ryan: Nah

Me: How about a dentist?

Ryan: Nah

Me: How about a firefighter?

Ryan: Nah

Me: How about a banker?

Ryan: No thank you, I'm just gonna live with you.

Me... gives up. lol ...(yeah, you can see why I get paid the big bucks at the college to advise students in the job world, lol)
